Abstract
Abstract (english)
The present research, which deals with playing in Early Childhood Education, has as general objective to reflect on the importance of this play for the development and learning of children, seeking to contribute with more elements on this subject that has been recurrent in recent years in the discussions that deal of this level of education through bibliographic research. The authors surveyed affirmed the merit of play in development and learning, especially in the age group from 0 to 5 years, when the children are entering the school of Early Childhood Education. The work of Kishimoto (2002), Oliveira (1994) and Wajskop (1995, 2001) show that this subject is relevant, and the reflection about it is still very necessary, since very recently there was a belief that playing was only a way to pass the time of the children in the school and that the Childhood Education had character only assistentialist and non-pedagogic. The researchers investigated for this work demonstrate that the practice of the school and the teacher have been incipient in relation to the play, bringing, therefore, implications to the social interactions and consequently to the development and learning of the students

A presente pesquisa, que trata do brincar na Educação Infantil, tem como objetivo geral refletir acerca da importância para o desenvolvimento e a aprendizagem das crianças, buscando contribuir com mais elementos sobre este assunto que tem sido recorrente nos últimos anos nas discussões que tratam deste nível de ensino por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica. Os autores pesquisados afirmam sobre o mérito da brincadeira no desenvolvimento e na aprendizagem, especialmente na faixa etária dos 0 aos 5 anos, momento em que as crianças estão adentrando a escola de Educação Infantil. Os trabalhos de Kishimoto (2002), Oliveira (1994) e Wajskop (1995, 2001) demonstram que este assunto é relevante, e a reflexão acerca dele ainda se faz muito necessária, já que há pouquíssimo tempo atrás, havia a crença de que brincar era apenas uma maneira de se passar o tempo das crianças na escola e que a Educação Infantil tinha caráter apenas assistencialista e não pedagógico. As pesquisas investigadas para este trabalho demonstram que a prática da escola e do professor têm sido incipientes com relação ao brincar, trazendo, assim, implicações às interações sociais e consequentemente ao desenvolvimento e aprendizagem dos alunos
