IN THE MOMORY OF THE MARIAS: ORAL HISTORY, MIGRATIONS, GENERATIONS AND PLACE IN THE CONTEXT OF FORMATION OF THE TUCANOASSEMBLAGE IN EUCLIDES DA CUNHA/SP

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the formation process of the Tucano settlement, located in the municipality of Euclides da Cunha Paulista, in the west of Sao Paulo State, a region known as Pontal do Paranapanema, where there is a long history of land conflicts and creation of rural settlements. This paper intends to present the process of struggle and conquest for the land under the feminine bias, through the memories and reports of women who participated in this process and also of the young women who resignify the history of grandparents and parents as a reinforcement of identity with the group of people that integrate the settlement and the land where they live and produce, fortifying the sense of belonging to the place. The main methodological procedures used in the research were thematic and oral history interviews.
