O papel da tomoperfusão na conduta do AVC isquêmico na atualidade

Abstract

O acidente vascular cerebral (AVC), é uma doença neurológica que acontece quando há uma interrupção do fluxo sanguíneo em determinada área do cérebro de forma súbita, causando lesão na área atingida e consequentemente, a morte do tecido dessa área. Um dos passos mais importantes para dar início ao tratamento dos pacientes acometidos por essa patologia, é o diagnóstico correto. O exame de imagem do cérebro através da perfusão por tomografia computadorizada pode proporcionar um diagnóstico mais rápido e preciso da natureza e da extensão do problema, além de identificar se ele é isquêmico (AVCi) ou hemorrágico (AVCh). Com isso, o presente trabalho tem por objetivo comparar a eficácia das técnicas de imagem por tomografia computorizada (TC) e ressonância magnética (RM) no diagnóstico do acidente vascular cerebral.

Stroke is a neurological disease that happens when there is a sudden interruption of blood flow in a certain area of the brain, causing lesion in the affected area and consequently, the death of tissue in that area. One of the most important steps to start the treatment of patients affected by this pathology is the correct diagnosis. The imaging of the brain through CT perfusion imaging can provide a faster and more accurate diagnosis of the nature and extent of the problem, besides identifying whether it is ischemic (ischemic stroke) or hemorrhagic (hemorrhagic stroke). With this, the present work aims to compare the effectiveness of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques in the diagnosis of stroke.
