Currently, the electronic sport or e-sports is in great rise and development, with high numbers of fans and teams professionalized. Like any sport, the routine of training can have both positive and negative effects for health of the cyber athletes. The general objective of the study was to understand what are the effects of training routines in the physical health of a cyber athlete, stressing the positive and negative points of such activities. In addition, we sought to understand what is the function of the physical education professional in the reality of the cyber athletes. The research method was a bibliographic review, so we selected scientific papers, theses, dissertations, articles of journals for reading and analysis of information. The results showed that the training routines have effects, predominantly negative on physical health and develop various types of syndromes, injuries, diseases and disorders mainly associated with the musculoskeletal system. However, all these problems can be avoided and cautious by regular practice of physical exercises, provided that systematized and structured properly by a competent professional in the area of physical education

A natação para bebês: princípios pedagógicos, sua didática e sua relação com a educação física
(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2018) Guimarães, Gustavo Gonzalo [UNESP]; Lima, Luiz Augusto Normanha [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
The infant swimming area is within the aquatic activities and is a relatively recent area if we take into account that the first studies done with this theme began in the seventies and that previously this mode of interaction with the aquatic environment was a myth before the vision of science. After the first research with this theme appeared, then came innumerable knowledge and discoveries related to the psychomotor, cognitive and social development of the babies, using as an instrument to stimulate swimming. The aim of this study is to compare the pedagogical and didactic principles of swimming for infants with the pedagogical, didactic and educational principles of Physical Education and to verify how swimming for infants is part of Physical Education as an educational tool

Revisitando os estudos sobre a germinação de sementes de Euterpe edulis Martius (Arecaceae)
(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2018) Fernandes, Karen Andressa [UNESP]; Cortes, Marina Correa [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Seed germination is a crucial process to ensure the regeneration of plant populations, especially non-sprouting species. It is a variable process between species and even within the species itself due to intrinsic characteristics of the seed (seed traits) and external factors (biotic and abiotic). Thus, we aim to review the effects of these factors on the germination of the seeds of an endangered Atlantic Forest species, Euterpe edulis Martius (Arecaceae), whose economic and ecological importance is well documented in the literature. To do this, we consulted 13 databases available online, nationally and internationally, from keywords related to the scientific and popular name of the species and to the germination process. We found a total of 106 studies that tested the effect of one or more factors on the germination of the seeds of the species, of which 60 are published in journals, and the rest comprise monographs, book chapters and abstracts of studies presented at events. The number of studies has increased over time, and although the species also occurs in Paraguay and Argentina, Brazil has the highest number of studies. We identified some conditions more favorable to the germination of the seeds of the species, among which we highlight: 1) application of pre-treatments; 2) selection of matrices for collection of very mature fruits (black), 3) use of larger seeds for cultivation; 4) constant temperature at 25°C, or alternated 20- 30°C in the laboratory; 5) use of vermiculite as a substrate; 6) seeding depth of 2 centimeters; 7) for the management of the species is suggested the planting of seedlings instead of seeds. This knowledge leads to a better understanding of the interfering factors in the dynamics of regeneration, as well as to optimize projects related to restoration, reintroduction, enrichment and commercial cultivation. Finally, we point out some shortcomings in relation to germination, which require the attention of future...

Shyness is an emotional state that prejudice social interactions and consequently can negatively influence the practice of physical activities in this context. Thinking about the promotion of physical activity it is essential to understand the factors that hinder the practice. Therefore, this work had the objective to perform a literature review in the exploratory approach in order to gather pertinent information that can help the professional of Physical Education to welcome and include shy individuals in their classes and physical activity programs. Thus, contributing to the identification of shyness, welcome and referral to the competent professional. The findings indicate the negative influences of shyness on the practice of physical activity but also the capacity and effectiveness of this practice to provide benefits on cases of shyness. It can be considered as an important aid in the treatment and/or intervention in cases of anxiety disorders, especially those that affect development and social interaction

Fasting is a natural human body phenomenon of a voluntary or involuntary character. Classified as an abstention in food and / or fluid intake after a certain period of time of the last meal, this practice has been used for centuries throughout human history for a wide range of purposes. Today, fasting is perceived by some professionals as a powerful tool and an effective means of controlling and maintaining body weight, which in then shed light on it's concept. In addition to serving as a kind of natural treatment for people with metabolic adversities its theory points out that when tied to an program of physical exercise and balanced diet, fasting can serve as a supplement in order to maximize gains in both health and wellness. This work aims to elucidate this issue and to point out possible benefits of physical exercise linked to fasting, using as a method a review of non - systematic literature carried out in internationally recognized databases. Several studies indicate that there are no significant differences in weight reduction when exercise is performed under fasting state or when done after a pre-workout meal, however fasting training protocols show that its accomplishment causes several metabolic adaptations at the cellular level, which when brought to a scope of greater magnitude can be interpreted as beneficial precursors to the organism providing better levels of health

Fogo e fauna: o que sabemos? Revisão bibliográfica sobre os efeitos do fogo nos principais grupos animais do cerrado
(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2019) Castro, Júlia Castelli [UNESP]; Fidelis, Alessandra Tomaselli [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Fire is an agent of wide natural occurrence in tropical savannas, responsible for transformations in animals communities and vegetation structure. In the Cerrado, natural fire occurs during the transition from the dry season to the wet season. Transformations created by fire produce mosaics of phytophysiognomies that promote and maintain the biodiversity of the environment. Intensity, frequency and extensions of burned area are important factors of knowledge over the fire regime, mainly, to evaluate the effects of anthropogenic burnings. Despite its major importance, little is known about effects of fire in animals communities, whether of natural or anthropic origin. Aspects such as animal behavior and morphology directly interfere on the susceptibility degree on each group, because fire events cause physical changes in environment, promoting variation in habitats of some animals, modificating the availability of resources, refuges and nesting sites. This study evaluate, by reviewing the literature, the effects of fire in several animal groups, with the objective of organizing their effects into positive, negative or neutral for each group. We show that some species are highly adapted to fire, taking refuge underground and benefiting from the post fire environment. However, other species can be eliminated from those habitats

Biologia e comportamento reprodutivo de Cycloramphus boraceiensis (Anura, Cycloramphidae)
(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2019) Silva, Clara Helena de Souza [UNESP]; Haddad, Celio Fernando Baptista [UNESP]; Sá, Fábio Perin de [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Reproductive strategies in anurans are attributed to combinations of physiological, morphological, and behavioral characteristics, always associated with microhabitat conditions. Cycloramphus boraceiensis is a frog species endemic from the Atlantic Forest of the Serra do Mar. Adults and offspring are found close to holes or crevice in rocks next to areas of waterfalls in fast streams. With unique characteristics of microhabitat use and lacking information concerning biology and reproductive behavior, C. boraceiensis is an excellent species for natural history studies. The main goal of the present study is the understanding of fundamental aspects of the biology and the reproductive behavior that are still unknow for this frog species from the family Cycloramphidae. Directly in the field, we recorded the microhabitat use and behaviors of the species. We recorded male-male competition events, including fights for reproductive resources. We also found three spawns throughout the study, all of them guarded by their respective guardian males, likely their parents. In the laboratory, we counted oocytes is adult females, also contributing to the understanding of the reproductive aspects of C. boraceiensis

Resposta termofílica pós-prandial do sapo-cururu, Rhinella diptycha
(Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp), 2019) Clemente, Amanda Copriva [UNESP]; Andrade, Denis Otávio Vieira de [UNESP]; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Ectothermal animals depend primarily on behavioral adjustments coupled with the exploration of external heat sources to regulate body temperature (Tb). In addition, Tb variations can significantly affect the physiology of ectothermic organisms influencing important aspects of their reproduction, metabolism, feeding and digestion, among others. Thus, thermoregulation is a central aspect of the biology of ectothermal animals. In ectothermalvertebrates it is common for animals to have a preference for a particular temperature or temperature range, which is called the preferred body temperature (Tpref). This preference, however, can be altered in function of external factors or the condition of the animals. For example, fed animals generally exhibit an increase in Tpref - referred to a postprandial thermophilic response - which potentially improves food digestion performance. This response is relatively well documented in Squamata, but among anuran amphibians, information on its occurrence, magnitude and possible determinants is scarce. Thus, in the present study, we investigated whether the cururu toad, Rhinella diptycha, changes its thermal preference after being fed with a prey with a mass equivalent to 15% of its body mass. For this, fed and fasted animals were maintained for eight consecutive days in a thermal gradient with temperatures ranging from 15ºC to 30ºC. During this period, the Tb of the frogs was continuously monitored with temperature sensors (iButtons®) implanted intraperitoneally. The Tpref values of the fed animals increased to levels significantly higher than the Tpref values of fasted animals on the second day after feeding and that difference was maintained until the end of the experiments. The occurrence of a postprandial thermophilic response in R. diptycha indicates that this species is able to adjust its thermoregulatory behavior as a function of feed, possibly improving digestion efficiency
