Resumo
Apresentam-se nesta dissertação intitulada O Instituto de Educação de Presidente Prudente/SP (1953-1975): elementos para a história de uma instituição escolar, resultados de pesquisa com o objetivo de reconstituir aspectos de uma história do Instituto de Educação “Fernando Costa” da cidade de Presidente Prudente/SP, entre 1953 e 1975, período de funcionamento desse instituto, especificamente aspectos da instalação e encerramento e aspectos das vivências dos sujeitos na instituição. Além disso, objetivaram-se referenciar as fontes primárias relacionadas a essa instituição organizando-as em instrumentos de pesquisas. Mediante abordagem histórica, centrada em pesquisa documental e bibliográfica, a partir dos procedimentos de localização, identificação, reunião, seleção e sistematização foram elaborados dois instrumentos de pesquisas um contendo referências de fontes localizadas no arquivo permanente do Instituto de Educação “Fernando Costa” e outro contendo referências de textos, sobre essa instituição, localizados nos números dos jornais impressos prudentinos. A partir disso, para integrar o corpus documental da investigação, selecionaram-se atas, exames realizados pelos alunos, livro de correspondência, livro de compromisso, registro de punições, termo de visita do Inspetor Estadual, inventário, livros de matrícula, planta do IE “Fernando Costa” e textos contidos nos números dos jornais. Além dessas fontes contidas nos instrumentos de pesquisas, selecionaram-se legislação educacional orientadora e normatizadora desse instituto, figuras e bibliografia sobre o tema. A análise das fontes possibilitou constatar que o prédio do Instituto de Educação “Fernando Costa” foi construído para ocupar um Ginásio Estadual e posteriormente um Colégio Estadual e Escola Normal sendo transformado em instituto em 1953, transformação que foi recebida positivamente pelos habitantes da cidade, enquanto que o encerramento causou indignação e manifestações contrárias dos prudentinos e sujeitos da instituição. Essa instituição funcionou por 22 anos em um prédio em que há o predomínio do retílineo, andares e escadas ocupando um quarteirão de um terreno da cidade. Nessa instituição, o Curso Primário Anexo contava com uma Associação de Pais e mestres que visava aproximar os pais para que auxiliassem financeiramente e no cumprimento das normas do instituto. No Ensino Secundário ministrado nessa instituição, havia o Clube de Química que se tornou social com atividades realizadas além do espaço institucional, esse clube estava relacionado com o Curso Colegial, que era o curso de destaque do instituto em questão. Por fim, ressalta-se que no Instituto de Educação “Fernando Costa”, havia conflitos que envolviam diretores, professores e alunos e esses conflitos eram solucionados de maneiras diversas, sendo que dentre as soluções estavam as punições.
In this dissertation entitled The Institute of Education of Presidente Prudente/SP (1953-1975): elements for the history of a school institution, research results with the purpose of reconstituting aspects of a history of the "Fernando Costa" Institute of Education Of the city of Presidente Prudente / SP, between 1953 and 1975, the period of operation of this institute, specifically aspects of the installation and closure and aspects of the subjects' experiences in the institution. In addition, they aimed to refer primary sources related to this institution by organizing them into research tools. Based on historical, documentary and bibliographical research, two research instruments were developed based on localization, identification, selection, and systematization procedures, one containing references from sources located in the permanent archive of the "Fernando Costa" Institute of Education and another Containing references of texts, about this institution, located in the numbers of the printed newspapers of the province of Palermo. From this, to integrate the documentary corpus of the investigation, they were selected minutes, exams done by the students, correspondence book, book of commitment, record of punishments, term of visit of the State Inspector, inventory, books of registration, plant of IE "Fernando Costa" and texts contained in the numbers of the newspapers. Besides these sources contained in the research instruments, educational and normative legislation of this institute, figures and bibliography on the subject were selected. The analysis of the sources made it possible to verify that the building of the "Fernando Costa" Institute of Education was constructed to occupy a State Gymnasium and later a State College and Normal School was transformed into an institute in 1953, a transformation that was received positively by the inhabitants of the city, That the closure caused indignation and contradictory manifestations of the prudentinos and subjects of the institution. This institution has operated for 22 years in a building where there is a predominance of retreat, floors and stairs occupying a block of a land of the city. In this institution, the Primary Primary Course had an Association of Parents and teachers that aimed to bring parents closer to assist financially and in compliance with the rules of the institute. In Secondary Education given at this institution, there was the Chemistry Club that became social with activities carried out beyond the institutional space, this club was related to the Collegial Course, which was the main course of the institute in question. Finally, it was pointed out that in the "Fernando Costa" Institute of Education there were conflicts involving principals, teachers and students, and these conflicts were solved in different ways, among which were punishments.
