Abstract
The paper does a Simplified Life Cycle Assessment of corn production in Brazil. At the life cycle, is considered the grain production and the production of its seeds. It shows that the high majority (95,5[%]) of pesticides consumed has the potential to cause very and moderate environmental hazard and that only 30[%] of the pesticides represent low toxicity risk. At corn life cycle, special care must be directed to herbicides and insecticides. These pesticides are the most dangerous regarding the potential environmental hazard as well as regarding the toxicity risk.
