Estilos de humor e habilidades sociais na escolha de parceiros amorosos em universitários

Resumo
Estudos científicos apontam que a expressividade do humor é um componente que pode favorecer ou firmar interações pessoais, e ainda, um dos critérios de predileção utilizado como característica para escolha de parceiros amorosos. Esta pesquisa de caráter quantitativo, descritivo, comparativo e correlacional com universitários, estudantes de uma universidade pública do interior do estado de São Paulo e tem o intuito de identificar o estilo de humor pessoal, o estilo de humor como critério na escolha de parceiros amorosos e as relações entre estilos de humor e habilidades sociais desses estudantes por meio dos pressupostos teóricos da Psicologia Evolucionista. Para isso, um questionário (Humor Styles Questionnaire) foi traduzido e adaptado a dois instrumentos para uso no contexto brasileiro, favorecendo a identificação do estilo de humor pessoal e do estilo de humor apontado pelos participantes como critério à escolha de parceiros amorosos, além do uso do Questionário de habilidades sociais, comportamentos e contextos para universitários (QHC-Universitários) para verificar as habilidades sociais dos estudantes em correlação ao estilo de humor. Este estudo buscou verificar as possíveis semelhanças entre os estilos de humor e sexo dos participantes, estilos de humor enquanto critério de escolha de parceiros idealizados e correlação ente estilos de humor e comportamentos habilidosos e não habilidosos. Resultados apontaram a prevalência do princípio da homogamia na comparação de estilo de humor individual e estilo de humor do parceiro, vindo ao encontro dos achados da teoria da Psicologia Evolucionista, contudo, pela primeira vez atentando-se ao estilo de humor como característica analisada enquanto critério de seleção de parceiros. Sobre escolha de parceiros: homens e mulheres com estilo de humor agressivo apresentaram preferência ao mesmo estilo de humor agressivo ao escolherem suas parceiras idealizadas, quando utilizados os questionários para análise dessa questão, assim como, para ambos, homens e mulheres que tem como característica o estilo de humor autodepreceativo preferiram parceiros e parceiras com o mesmo estilo de humor. Em relação ao estilo de humor afiliativo, apenas mulheres apresentaram este estilo de humor enquanto característica, preferindo parceiros com o mesmo estilo de humor que elas, sendo para o mesmo, no estilo de humor otimista. No total geral do instrumento observou-se que homens e mulheres prefiram parceiros que produzam senso de humor. Para as correlações estatísticas, analisou-se a variável correspondente às habilidades sociais, os resultados apontaram que homens e mulheres, que tem por característica os estilos de humor mal adaptados correlacionam-se à dificuldades em habilidades sociais, comportamentos não habilidosos, consequências negativas, presença e expressão de sentimentos negativos em homens e mulheres. O total do escore obtido entre comunicação de afeto em homens com maior escores total de Estilos de humor apontam à maior expressividade e produção de humor. O Estilo de humor mal adaptado – autodepreciativo em homens tem correlação negativa com comportamentos habilidosos, quanto menos expressarem este humor mais comportamentos habilidosos apresentarão, assim como, quanto mais expressarem o humor autodepreciativo, mais comportamentos não habilidosos apresentarão socialmente. As mulheres apresentam potencialidades em habilidades sociais enquanto correlações positivas com o estilo de humor otimista, favorável ao início e manutenção de relacionamentos interpessoais e amorosos com o mínimo de conflito. Homens e mulheres com estilo de humor autodepreciativo apresentam dificuldades em habilidades sociais, assim pode-se observar a relevância da expressividade do senso de humor, através de suas características – estilos enquanto um componente da personalidade, favorecendo estabelecimento e manutenção de relacionamentos ou proporcionando conflitos e dificuldades para isto.
Scientific studies indicate that expressiveness of mood is a component that can favor or establish personal interactions, and also a criterion of predilection used as a characteristic for choosing partners. This quantitative, descriptive, comparative and correlational research with university students from a public university in the interior of the state of São Paulo aims to identify the personal style of humor, humor style as a criterion in the choice of loving partners and the relationships between styles of humor and social skills of these students through the theoretical assumptions of Evolutionary Psychology. For this, a questionnaire (Humor Styles Questionnaire) was adapted to two instruments for use in the Brazilian context, favoring the identification of the style of personal humor and the style of humor pointed out by the participants as criterion to the choice of loving partners, besides the use of the Questionnaire of social skills, behaviors and contexts for university students (QHC-University) to verify the social skills of students in correlation with the style of humor. Thus, we sought to verify the possible similarities between the humor and sex styles of the participants, humor styles as a criterion for choosing idealized partners and correlation between mood styles and skilful and non-skilful behaviors. Results pointed out the principle of homogamy to prevail, coming to the encounter of the findings of the theory of evolutionary psychology, however, for the first time considering the style of humor as a characteristic analyzed as a criterion of selection of partners. Regarding the choice of partners, men and women with an aggressive humor style preferred the same style of aggressive humor when choosing their idealized partners, when the questionnaires were used to analyze this question, as well as for both men and women, style of self-deprecating humor preferred partners and partners with the same style of humor. In relation to the affiliative style of humor, only women presented this style of humor as a characteristic, preferring partners with the same style of humor that they, being for the same, in the style of optimistic humor. In the overall total of the instrument it was observed that men and women prefer partners that produce a sense of humor.For the statistical correlations, we analyzed the variable corresponding to social skills, the results pointed out that men and women, whose characteristics are poorly adapted humor, correlate with difficulties in social skills, non-skilful behaviors, negative consequences, presence and expression of negative feelings in men and women. The total score obtained between affection communication in men with higher total scores of mood styles points to greater expressiveness and humor production. The ill-adapted self-deprecating humor style in men has negative correlation with skillful behaviors, the less they express this humor the more skillful behaviors they will present, and the more they express self-deprecating mood, the more non-skillful behaviors they will present socially. The women present potential in social skills while positive correlations with the optimistic style of humor, favorable to the beginning and maintenance of relationships with the minimum of conflict, of well with life. Men and women with a self-deprecating humor style present difficulties in social skills, so it is possible to observe the relevance of the expressiveness of the sense of humor, through its characteristics - styles as a component of the personality, favoring establishment and maintenance of relationships or providing conflicts and difficulties for this
