Resumo
Partimos do princípio expresso na Carta de Turismo Cultural (ICOMOS, 1999) de que o turismo cultural é uma atividade que interage com projetos de preservação do patrimônio cultural e da sua autenticidade. Sendo assim, nossa problemática de pesquisa foi: como a conservação da memória social pode ser adequadamente contemplada em projetos turísticos. Para enfrentar essa questão geral, este estudo tomou um patrimônio ferroviário ativo, um trem turístico que opera numa via de 25km entre as cidades de Campinas e Jaguariúna (SP), com vista a entender se este atrativo turístico é uma forma de preservar as memórias, histórias ou tradições locais. Assim, os objetivos específicos foram: identificar a existência de memórias sobre a antiga operação da Companhia Mogiana na localidade ou arredores; verificar qual a valoração que a comunidade atribui hoje ao trem turístico; identificar se o trem turístico possui características materiais ou simbólicas que espelham a história local e da comunidade; analisar se o trem turístico é representativo da história local, por meio das características identificadas como sendo da memória social da comunidade. Para isso foi realizada revisão teórica e documental e se utilizou o método de abordagem e valoração do patrimônio (AVP), desenvolvido por Silberman e Labrador (2014), que conta com diversas técnicas de trabalho de campo que visam identificar a percepção da comunidade sobre o patrimônio. Com isso, buscou-se entender qual a importância a comunidade atribui ao atrativo e se esta se sente representada por meio do patrimônio ferroviário. Conclui-se que a comunidade identifica uma importância econômica e histórica ao atrativo, mas não de pertencimento e representatividade.
Founded in the principle expressed in the Cultural Tourism Charter (ICOMOS, 1999) that cultural tourism is an activity that interacts with projects to preserve cultural heritage and its authenticity; consequently, our research problem is how the conservation of social memory (which is part of this authenticity) can be considered in tourism projects. To this general question, this study takes an active railway heritage, a tourist train that operates on a 25km route between the cities of Campinas and Jaguariúna (SP), in main goal to understand whether this tourist attraction is a way of preserving memories, local stories or traditions. Within this issue, the specific objectives: to identify the memories about the old operation of Companhia Mogiana in the locality or surroundings; verify the importancez that the community attaches today to the tourist train; identify whether the tourist train has material or symbolic characteristics related to the local and community history, or the local memories; to analyze whether the tourist train is representative of local history and the community, including that identified as being a social memory. In order to it, a theoretical and documentary review will be carried out and the values-based approach will be used, which has several fieldwork techniques in a way that aim to identify the perception of the community about the heritage in question. With this, it seeks to understand what importance the community attributes to the attraction and whether it feels represented with the railway heritage. It is concluded that the community identifies an economic and historical importance to the attraction, but not of belonging and representation.
