Resumo

The technological advance, the changes in lifestyle, the growth of internet and the more democratic access to broadband have led more and more people to access the internet, by a variety of reasons ranging from a search for fun to shopping and relationships. In the case of elderly users, another factor is included as critical to the growing desire to join the big network - socialization and independence. Establishing communication with friends and children, surfing with no help, searching the internet for issues that may assist you daily and even make ATM transactions easier are some of the reasons to prove that, opposite to what was supposed, the elderly are able and even feel eager to learn about computers. Thus, the aim of this study is to bring a reflection on the use of digital tablets for elderly users, based on available literature.
