no ambiente clínico.
It is known that the dental surgeon and his team, as well as the patients undergoing treatment, are exposed to a wide variety of pathogenic microorganisms, which can be transmitted by direct or indirect contact with saliva, blood, droplets, or even through the aerosol that remains suspended in the clinical environment. With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic, standard precautionary measures in dentistry, which were already necessary for dental care, have become even more critical, mainly due to the widespread concern about the risk of exposure. Given the importance of adherence to containment of biohazards standards for hand hygiene, use of protective barriers for surfaces and dental clinic equipment, use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as well as disinfection through the use of sanitizing products for surfaces and equipment, this TCC aims to carry out a discussion, through the relevant literature, about the importance of the stage of disinfection of surfaces in the dental care environment.
