Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder characterized by difficulty with accurate and/or fluent word recognition, decoding and spelling skills. There are pedagogical and psychopedagogical interventions that can favor the student's academic performance, one of them is the use of Digital Information and Communication Technologies, such as, for example, the audiobook. Thus, the general objective of this research was to analyze the use of the audiobook as a teaching resource for students with dyslexia in the Portuguese language area. Specifically, it was intended to identify the students' reading and writing level; verify the involvement of students with the audiobook resource and identify facilities and difficulties in using the audiobook for students with dyslexia. The research developed included a qualitative approach, characterized as descriptive, in which a field research was carried out with 52 high school students, divided into two classes, and their respective teachers. As research instruments we used a logbook, questionnaires and a didactic sequence that included the use of the book and audiobook Auto da Compadecida by Ariano Suassuna. The research results showed that the audiobook can be a great ally to develop reading during classes, not only in the Portuguese language area, but also in other disciplines, as it can contribute to the involvement of students with and without dyslexia, resulting in more participation and interactions of all students during classes. When we compare the students' participation during the moments with and without an audiobook, it is evident that the use of this technological resource was very well accepted among the participants, who wanted the readings to always take place with the audio. Students with dyslexia indicated how much the audiobook was beneficial during the readings, helping them to better understand what was being read, not to get lost during reading and to imagine the scenes of the narrative. Despite the audio resource being available on several free platforms, many students and even teachers indicated that they did not know or had never used it. The intentional and targeted adoption of technological resources can enhance the teaching-learning process, as it proposes more dynamism, engagement, making the content more accessible to some students who are interested and find new study alternatives.
