Resumo
As mudanças no espaço rural evidenciam a diversidade e a necessidade de investigá-las e de demonstrar que o rural não é unívoco nem tampouco homogêneo. Uma das transformações ocorridas se refere ao desenvolvimento da pluriatividade e à diversificação das fontes de renda das famílias rurais, com destaque àquelas obtidas sem vínculo agrícola. Neste trabalho, o objetivo principal é caracterizar e analisar as condições socioeconômicas das famílias residentes nos Bairros Rurais Aeroporto, Cedro, Gramado, Córrego da Onça e Ponte Alta, localizados no Município de Presidente Prudente. A análise compreende o período entre o início da década de 1970 e o contexto atual (2007). Os procedimentos metodológicos adotados se baseiam, predominantemente, na articulação entre o levantamento bibliográfico e a aplicação de questionário junto a setenta famílias residentes nos bairros supracitados. O trabalho mostra que os bairros rurais devem ser apreendidos como lugares da singularidade e da diversidade, decorrentes dos elementos estruturais, isto é, da formação histórica e econômica e, também, da situação conjuntural - baseada na expansão das pastagens, no aumento da ociosidade de terras e na expansão territorial urbana. Uma das constatações refere-se à importância da aposentadoria, que, para os produtores idosos, é uma fonte de renda importante e estável. No âmbito geral, constatou-se que nos bairros rurais pesquisados há combinação de diferentes tipos de renda e atividades, com destaque àquelas sem vínculos agrícolas. Isso mostra o caráter múltiplo das famílias pesquisadas nessas unidades socioespaciais. Além disso, retratou-se a invisibilidade do feminino e a inserção das mulheres no mercado não-agrícola, sobretudo em empregos domésticos.
The changes in rural space show the diversity and the necessity of investigate them and demonstrate that the rural is not uniform or homogeneous. One of the changes refers to the development of the pluriactivity and to the variation of income sources in rural families, distinguishing those without any link with agriculture. In this work, the main purpose is to characterize and analyze the socioeconomic conditions of the families inhabiting Aeroporto, Cedro, Gramado, Córrego da Onça and Ponte Alta rural neighborhoods, located in the municipality of Presidente Prudente. The analysis comprises the period between the beginning of the 1970s and the current year (2007). The methodological procedures adopted are predominantly based on the articulation of the bibliographical survey and the application of a questionnaire to seventy families living in the neighborhoods mentioned before. The work shows that the rural neighborhoods must be seen as spaces of singularity and diversity, due to structural elements, i.e., to economic and historical formations and also to the conjuncture, based on pasture extension, in the increasing of land inoccupation and in the urban territorial expansion. One of the evidences refers to the importance of retirement, which is an essential and stable income source to old producers. In the general context, it was verified that, in the rural neighborhoods researched, there is a combination of different types of income and activities, mostly those without any link with agriculture. It shows multiple characteristics of the families researched in these sociospatial unities. Also, the work discusses female s invisibility and women s insertion in non-agricultural market, mainly in household jobs.
