dc.description.abstractThe researches on historically informed performance were, at first, focused on seventeenth- and eighteenth- century works; hence they brought new thoughts on traditional analytical procedures, and also stimulated new performances of these styles. However, instead of pointing unambiguous and precise results, such studies have multiplied the possibilities of musical interpretation. The researches on these subjects have reached, little by little, to the domains of other musical styles. In this article, we shall deal with some performance issues brought by the number of music editions on Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849). The unrestricted access to the first editions at internet, altogether with the possibilities brought by historical approaches have expanded the established guidelines for his music and have brought more flexibility to some topics of their performance practice, such as phrase structuring, touches, tone, fingering, pedaling, rubati and ornamentations.en
