Aspectos rítmicos e formais no álbum Time Out do Dave Brubeck Quartet

Abstract

O objetivo da pesquisa deste trabalho é o aprofundamento nos elementos rítmicos, métricos e formais das músicas do álbum Time Out do Dave Brubeck Quartet. Bem como investigar as possíveis influências e escolhas do compositor. Trazer tais elementos da polirritmia à tona através das análises das gravações e partituras do álbum, e, também, traçar paralelo com o momento histórico da época; sobretudo no contexto musical jazzístico, político e cultural. Além disso, investigar a influência da estética do Modernismo das artes e arquitetura na concepção artística do álbum.

The research objective of this work is to deepen the rhythmic, metric and formal elements of the songs from the Dave Brubeck Quartet’s Time Out album. As well as investigating the possible influences and choices of the composer. Bringing such elements of polyrhythmia to light through the analysis of the album’s recordings and sheet music, and also drawing a parallel with the historical moment of the time; especially in the jazz musical contexto, political and the influence of the modernist movement in the arte and architecture in the artistic conception of the album.
