Resumo

In this work is analyzed the synthesis of maghemite, γ - Fe 2O3, magnetite, Fe304, goethite, α - FeOOH, and hematite, α - Fe2O3, by application of excess of iron chlorate ionic aqueous solution from Continuous Pickling line (CPL) of Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (CSN), about of 500 m3/month, as a new production rote of inorganic pigments. The goethite, α - FeOOH, yellow pigment, was obtained by direct oxidation of iron hydroxide, Fe(OH)2, which was obtained from double change reaction between ammonium hydroxide, NH 4OH, and iron chlorate ionic aqueous solution, FeCl2. The brown pigment is a mix of goethite, α - FeOOH, and maghemite, γ - Fe2O3, in other hand, the brown pigment was obtained from iron hydroxide Fe(OH)2, oxidation or from lepidocrocita, γ - FeOOH calcination. The hematite, α - Fe2O3, was obtained from goethite, α - FeOOH, calcination and/or maghemita, γ - Fe2O3 calcination.
