The article discusses the creation of ontology standards and how the resources and practices developed by the Ontology Design Patterns team (NEON Project) propose standards and recommendations for the organization, access and retrieval of resources in the Semantic Web. Thinking about the complexity of creating ontology-based language patterns involves understanding that this is expressed as a concern, self-referential question regarding its convergent nature. To answer it, one needs to understand that the main quality of what is complex, is combining many elements or parts. From this point of view, there are several standards and models for the creation of 'design patterns', based on content, language, knowledge and logical patterns, among others. This exploratory and descriptive research aimed to elucidate standards and norms of ontology design, by providing criteria and methods on the object, to formulate the described hypothesis, and to identify the factors and variables related to the studied practices. We concluded that the investigation of this issue in Information Science is important for reflexive training of information professionals.en
