dc.description.abstractO estilo de vida sedentário na população com acidente vascular cerebral (AVC) está relacionado com as incapacidades físicas e diminuição da função. Além disso, a menor capacidade respiratória por alterações na integridade do sistema neuromuscular e da caixa torácica também contribuem negativamente para os menores níveis de atividade física, já que esses apresentam dispnéia em condições de maior esforço. Diante do exposto, esse estudo teve como objetivo avaliar se o nível de atividade física interfere na função respiratória de pacientes com AVC. Para a avaliação do nível de atividade física e função cognitiva foram aplicados os questionários Perfil de atividade Humana (PAH) e o Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Por fim, foram realizados o teste de função pulmonar e a manovacuometria para a avaliação respiratória. Todos os pacientes da amostra foram classificados como inativos (EAA<53) e nenhum apresentou 26 pontos no MoCA. Nenhuma das variáveis espirométricas se relacionou de forma significativa com o nível de atividade física e a função cognitiva de cada paciente. As variáveis espirométricas CVF, VEF1 e VVM em porcentagem do predito estavam diminuídas em relação à normalidade quando considerado a média dos valores. Dos sete pacientes avaliados, três apresentaram valor de PImáx abaixo do previsto e com relação à PEmáx, apenas um paciente apresentou valor abaixo do previsto. Com isso, concluiu-se que o nível de atividade física não foi determinante na função respiratória de pacientes com AVC neste estudo.pt
dc.description.abstractThe sedentary lifestyle in the population with stroke is related to physical disabilities and reduced function. In addition, lower respiratory capacity due to alterations in the integrity of the neuromuscular system and the ribcage also controlled for lower levels of physical activity, as these present dyspnea in conditions that demand greater effort. Given the above, this study aimed to assess whether the level of physical activity interferes with the respiratory function of stroke patients. To assess the level of physical activity and cognitive function, the Human Activity Profile (HAP) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) tests were applied. Finally, the pulmonary function test and manovacuometry were performed for respiratory evaluation. All patients in the sample were classified as inactive (AAS<53) and none had 26 points on the MoCA. None of the spirometric variables were significantly related to each patient's level of physical activity and cognitive function. The spirometric variables FVC, FEV1 and MVV in percentage of predicted were decreased in relation to normality when the mean values were considered. Of the seven patients evaluated, three had a MIP value below the predicted value and regarding MEP, only one patient had a value below the predicted value. Thus, it was concluded that the level of physical activity was not determinant in the respiratory function of stroke patients in this study.en
