The concept of creativity in Piaget and Vygotsky
(2017-01-01) Coelho, Talitha Priscila Cabral ; Vasconcelos, Mário Sérgio ; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
This paper aims to analyze the psychological development of creativity theme in the L. Piaget and Vygotsky's works. With such purpose we will examine this issue in the production of authors with notable recognition and prestige in the national and international psychological literature. We performed a systematic bibliographical review of their original works and did compare their postulates to highlight the similarities and differences. Both of them have dedicated part of their studies to investigate the relation between the development of the psyche and production of the new. They defended the idea that to understand creativity it is necessary to investigate, at different times of the course of human life, the psychological development of the creation and its entanglement with the environment/social relations. Piaget elaborated a Genetic Epistemology and gave a particular importance to the creative process, taking as an assumption the idea that subject is an active when interacting with the world, creatively building knowledge. Vygotsky claims a Marxist Psychology and presupposes that the reality is possible to be captured by thought and actively transformed, through the mediation of culture.

This chapter offers a summary of freshwater cnidarians from the Neotropical region. A short review on methods of identification with the most relevant aspects of morphology and biology can be found, as well as a key identification based on the most recent studies of the group. In this chapter you will find the basic tools necessary to be able to take your first steps in the study of these fascinating animals.

State-of-the-art of the superstimulatory treatments utilized in bovine embryo transfer protocols and future perspectives for new improvements
(2011-01-01) Gouveia Nogueira, Marcelo F. ; Barros, Ciro Moraes ; Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP)
In the present article superstimulatory treatments based upon a protocol coined P-36,in which the time of ovulation is controlled by a progesterone source and exogenousadministration of LH, allowing the use of fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) inzebu (Bos indicus) and European breeds (Bos taurus), are briefly reviewed. Moreover, important recurrent topics such as the ideal semen concentration for fixed-time artificialinsemination (FTAI) of superstimulated donors, improvement of fertilization rate inembryo donors, and criteria to consider a donor refractory to superstimulatory treatments, were addressed. The discussion about the current obstacles for a wider use of multipleovulation and embryo transfer (MOET), in both dairy and beef cattle, may contribute tofuture research related to this topic. © 2009 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. Ceriantharia in current systematics: Life cycles, morphology and genetics
(2016-01-01) Stampar, Sérgio N. ; Maronna, Maximiliano M. ; Kitahara, Marcelo V. ; Reimer, James D. ; Beneti, Julia S. ; Morandini, André C. ; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) ; Universidade de São Paulo (USP) ; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) ; University of the Ryukyus
The systematics of the class Anthozoa has been built-up by a number of authors with different approaches. However, despite all efforts the evolutionary position of the tube-dwelling anemones (subclass/order Ceriantharia) remains unclear. This dilemma has arisen especially due to lack of understanding of the homologies that date back to the early twentieth century. Thus, this review focuses on discussing the morphological and genetic patterns and inferences of Ceriantharia in relation to other groups of Anthozoa. Initially we discuss the basic aspects of Ceriantharia, followed by a comparison of ceriantharian characters to other anthozoan groups and also provide a discussion on the uncertain systematic and evolutionary position of the order bringing up some perspectives on future studies of Ceriantharia.

Parameter optimization and active control of electromechanical suspension systems
(2018-01-01) Kuhnert, Willian Minnemann ; Silveira, Marcos ; Gonçalves, Paulo José Paupitz ; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
This paper has as object of study a simplified model for the the automobile suspension system, which can become a regenerative system by coupling a RLC electric circuit to the mechanical system. The main objectives of this paper are to study and optimize a simplified electromechanical suspension model that, when in passive mode, harvests energy, while maintaining the handling stability and passenger comfort, and when in active mode, uses energy to improve comfort for passengers and handling stability with least effort. A multi-objective optimization procedure was carried out and Pareto frontier was obtained for the objective functions when considering the passive mode. When considering active control, changes were proposed to the optimal control in order to reduce control effort for feedforward strategy, while for feedback strategies, the stability gain range was obtained by Routh-Hurwitz criterion. The proposed control sets have particular advantages regarding isolation, energy harvested and control effort.

Condition monitoring of structures under non-ideal excitation using low cost equipment
(2017-04-25) Paupitz Gonçalves, Paulo J. ; Silveira, Marcos ; Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp)
Monitoring the integrity of structures and machines is an evergrowing concern in engineering applications. Better knowledge of structural conditions allows optimized maintenance cycles, increasing the availability and return of investment, and preventing failure of various systems from manufacturing equipment to air and land vehicles. A common way of evaluating the integrity of mechanical systems is capturing and analyzing vibration signals during operation. Many of the condition monitoring systems are highly specialized, incurring high initial investment. In this context, the objective of this work is to demonstrate the possibility of using low-cost systems for monitoring the integrity of structures. The use of piezoelectric sensors to capture vibration signals is currently ubiquitous, and acquisition and conditioning of these signals can be performed by low cost and open source logic programmable microcontrollers such as Arduino. Structures coupled to non-ideal motors (such that the phenomenon of resonance capture can occur) are used in this study. Controlled structural modifications are performed by the addition of point masses along the length of the beam, and by the application of magnetomotive forces with the use of an electromagnet at a fixed point on the beam. The experimental data is compared to analytical and numerical results, and to an established commercial system, demonstrating the possibility of satisfactory monitoring of structural integrity with such system.
