O município de Ipeúna situa-se na Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Corumbataí, no contexto estratigráfico da Bacia Sedimentar do Paraná. Possui um patrimônio geológico diversificado, incluindo elementos como cuestas, morros testemunhos, cavernas, quedas d’água, jazidas fossilíferas, sítios arqueológicos e formações geológicas de abrangência do Carbonífero-Permiano ao Quaternário. Em relação aos pontos turísticos municipais, 12 deles também correspondem a sítios de interesse geológico e podem ser explorados de modo a valorizar geodiversidade, despertando o sentimento de pertencimento a comunidade local e contribuindo para a geoconservação. Este trabalho tem como objetivo fornecer subsídios para o desenvolvimento do geoturismo no município, levantando os principais aspectos entre a atividade turística e o meio ambiente. Foi feito diagnóstico considerando as potencialidades geoturísticas como alternativa ao desenvolvimento sustentável do município. Através da confecção de mapas temáticos foi possível de reconhecer as limitações colocadas pelo meio ambiente, além de aspectos relacionados a declividade, corpos hídricos, uso e ocupação do solo e Áreas de Proteção Ambiental. Foram elaborados três roteiros geoturísticos voltados aos diversos grupos de visitantes. O primeiro roteiro é chamado Caminho das Rochas que visita quatro geossítios, voltado principalmente a estudantes de ensino médio, universitários, profissionais que se interessam pela geoconservação e comunidade acadêmica científica. O segundo é o Caminho das Águas que passa pelos principais rios e cachoeiras da cidade, voltado à comunidade local e turistas. O terceiro é o Caminho da Natureza, voltado à trilheiros e esportistas, além da comunidade local e turística, com temática em torno da geomorfologia da região. Espera-se que estes roteiros ajudem a planejar a implantação e a realização de atividades turísticas em Ipeúna, baseados nos aspectos naturais, visando o seu uso e manejo de forma adequada.

The city of Ipeúna, in the state of São Paulo, is located in the Corumbataí River Basin, in the litostratigraphic context of the Paraná Sedimentar Basin. Elements such as ridges, hills, caves, waterfalls, fossiliferous deposits, archaeological sites and the geological units of time Carboniferous-Permian until Quaternary composes the diverse geoheritage. Currently there are 12 touristic points that also correspond as points of geological interest and they may be explored in order to value the geodiversity, developing in the local community the feeling of belonging to a place, contributing for the geoconservation. Therefore, the objective of this work is to offer subsidies for the growing of the geotouristic activity in the city, considering the manly aspects related to the local tourism and the space. It a diagnostic considering the geotouristc potential as an alternative to the municipal sustainable development was realized. The confection of thematic maps made it possible to recognized the limitations related to the environment, besides elementary aspects about the declivity of the land, water resources, land use and occupancy and environmental protected areas. Finally, there were elaborated three geotouristic routes oriented for the diverse visitant public. The first route is the Geoscientific Route, developed for the researches and students and visiting four geossites. The second is the Hydrologic Route, developed for the local and touristic community, involving the principal rivers and waterfalls in the city. The third is the Geoecologic Route, developed for hikers and sportists, besides the local and touristic community, exploring the local geomorphology. These routes may support the programming and implantation of the tourist activities in Ipeúna, based on natural aspects, aiming the use and handling in an adequate technique.
