| dc.description.abstract | Crop rotation has been implemented since the early days of agriculture's history; however, it has changed over the years with systems being neglected in some regions, but also improved in others. In this chapter, the focus is on the history and current characteristics of crop rotation, what has been done to improve it worldwide, and how different climate conditions can affect it. In addition, the many benefits of crop rotation for different aspects of production systems such as yields, soil carbon sequestration, and pest control, are considered including some social-economic effects in various countries and regions. | en |
