Para além da praça!: a Batalha do Vale e a educação das juventudes na cidade de Presidente Prudente (SP)

Abstract

A presente dissertação tem como objetivo compreender como o envolvimento de jovens, negros e periféricos com coletivos juvenis, especialmente a Batalha do Vale (Hip Hop), influencia positivamente nas trajetórias espaciais e educacionais destes jovens. Ao se envolverem com o Hip Hop as juventudes periféricas tendem a se conscientizar a respeito das dinâmicas desiguais e excludentes que produzem a cidade e os espaços urbanos, passando então a buscar estratégias de superação, muitas vezes reencontrando nos estudos uma possibilidade de elaborar projetos e realiza-los. Nos baseamos na proposta de pesquisa militante e em colaboração, onde todas as etapas do processo de construção da investigação foram discutidas horizontalmente junto ao grupo estudado, por tanto, a participação dos membros da Batalha do Vale nas estratégias de pesquisa foram fundamentais para seu desenvolvimento. Identificamos também que a apropriação dos espaços urbanos pela Batalha do Vale institui territorialidades que afirmam a identidade periférica das juventudes envolvidas, configurando territórios do Hip Hop organizados a partir de lógicas comunitárias e horizontais, com políticas e relações de poder que permeiam a materialização das ações juvenis. Toda a experiência de envolvimento com o Hip Hop e com a Batalha do Vale se mostrou ser educativa, contribuindo na formação política e intelectual dos sujeitos envolvidos.

This dissertation aims to understand how the involvement of young black and peripheral youth with youth collectives, especially the Batalha do Vale (Hip Hop), positively influences the spatial and educational trajectories of these young people. By getting involved with Hip Hop, the peripheral youth tend to become aware of the unequal and excluding dynamics that produce the city and urban spaces, and then start looking for strategies to overcome them, often finding in their studies a possibility to elaborate projects and make them come true. We based our research on the proposal of militant and collaborative research, where all the stages of the research construction process were discussed horizontally with the studied group, therefore, the participation of the members of the Batalha do Vale in the research strategies was fundamental for its development. We also identified that the appropriation of urban spaces by the Batalha do Vale institutes territorialities that affirm the peripheral identity of the youth involved, configuring Hip Hop territories organized from community and horizontal logics, with policies and power relations that permeate the materialization of juvenile actions. The whole experience of involvement with Hip Hop and with the Batalha do Vale proved to be educational, contributing to the political and intellectual formation of the subjects involved.
