O presente trabalho apresenta uma análise do feminino em Angela Carter no que diz respeito aos contos de fadas A Câmara sangrenta, O sr. Lyon faz a corte, A Noiva do tigre, O Rei dos elfos e A Filha da neve presentes no livro The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories, publicado em 1979, sob o olhar da crítica feminista. A dissertação estabelece um estudo comparativo entre os contos de partida Branca de Neve, A Bela e a Fera e Barba Azul e a balada Erlkönig de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe e traça um paralelo entre a mudança nas histórias no que tange os papeis de gênero, as relações entre mãe e filha, pai e filha, a noiva e a própria existência da mulher na sociedade e seu empoderamento ao longo dos anos. Essas análises foram fundamentadas teoricamente nos estudos de autores como Bruno Bettelheim (2002), que segue uma visão freudiana sobre os signos presentes nos contos de fadas, e na psicoterapeuta Marie-Louise von Franz (1991 e 2001), a qual aborda a visão da psicologia analítica de Jung. Por fim, o estudo se debruça nas características que Angela Carter define como importantes em personagens femininas e que ajudam a evidenciar o perfil da mulher Carteriana. Também foram utilizados como fundamentação teórica autores como Elaine Showalter (1994), Lúcia Zolin (2005), Kate Millett (1990), Maureen Murdock (1990), Rapucci (1997 e 2011), Mendes (2000) e Monte (2018).

The present work aims to analyze the feminine in Angela Carter with regard to the fairy tales The Bloody chamber, The Courtship of mr. Lyon, The Tiger’s bride, The Erl-King and The Snow child present in the book The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories, published in 1979, following the feminist criticism. The dissertation establishes a comparative study between the tales Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Blue Beard and the ballad Erlkönig by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Other important point drawn in the present research is a parallel between the change in the narratives regarding gender roles, the relationships between mother and daughter, father and daughter, the bride, and the very existence of women in society and their empowerment over the years. These analyzes are theoretically based on the studies of authors like Bruno Bettelheim (2002), who follows the Freudian’s view of the signs present in fairy tales, and the psychotherapist Marie-Louise von Franz (1991 and 2001), who addresses Jung's view of analytical psychology. Finally, the study also seeks to address the characteristics that Angela Carter defines as important in female characters and helps to highlight the profile of the Carterian woman. Authors such as Elaine Showalter (1994), Lúcia Zolin (2005), Kate Millett (1990), Maureen Murdock (1990), Rapucci (1997 and 2011), Mendes (2000) and Monte (2018) were also used as theoretical foundations.
