O aumento das migrações humanas pelo globo aliado ao estreitamento dos direitos básicos dos indivíduos que migram como desdobramentos da globalização, unem-se ao conjunto de representações criminalizadoras dos migrantes presentes na mídia, construindo imaginários coletivos nocivos que não coincidem com a realidade e nem revelam a complexidade do tema. Por isso, o presente trabalho tem o objetivo de estudar as relações entre comunicação e os imaginários sociais das migrações a partir da narrativa cinematográfica. Para tanto, foi realizada pesquisa bibliográfica sobre temas como migrações, interculturalidade, cultura, mídia, discursos midiáticos, imaginário social e, em seguida, feita análise do filme “Nação Fast Food” a partir da análise crítica da narrativa. Por fim, foi possível entender que os meios de comunicação têm contribuído para a legitimação de uma violência cultural que envolve os migrantes, e por isso há a necessidade de construirmos discursos para a sensibilização sobre a temática a fim de que possam ser humanizados diante de umas das mais graves problemáticas humanas da atualidade, motivando assim a pluralidade cultural e a transformação da realidade vulnerável dos migrantes.
Abstract (english)
The increase of human migrations across the globe, along with the decrease of the basic rights of individuals who migrate as a result of globalization, combined with the set of criminalizing representations of migrants present in the media, build harmful collective imaginary that does not coincide with reality and does not reveal the reality and complexity of the theme. Therefore, the present work aims to study the relationship between communication and the social imaginary of migrations from the cinematic narrative. For this, bibliographic research was conducted on topics such as migrations, interculturality, culture, media, media speeches, social imagery, and then analysis of the movie “Fast Food Nation” based in the method of critical analysis of the narrative. At the end of the work, it was possible to understand that the media have contributed to the legitimation of a cultural violence that involves migrants, and for this reason there is a need to build speeches to raise awareness about the theme so that they can be humanized once we are facing one of the most serious human problems of today, thus motivating the cultural plurality and the transformation of the vulnerable reality of migrants.
