Abstract

Abstract (english)

This research aimed to understand the impacts of Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT), implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, on teaching practices, teacher education, and the use of Digital Educational Resources (DERs), analyzing the relationships between initial teacher training, pedagogical strategies, and the challenges faced by teachers in this context. Specifically, the study investigated the compliance with National Curriculum Guidelines regarding the mandatory integration of digital technologies in teacher education programs, particularly in Pedagogy degrees, and examined the strategies adopted and challenges experienced by teachers in the use of digital resources during the pandemic period. The study adopted a qualitative approach based on Bardin’s (2016) content analysis, using questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and documentary analysis of educational guidelines and official reports as data sources. The theoretical framework was grounded in the articulation between Bronfenbrenner’s Bioecological Theory of Human Development (1996; 2011) and Socio-historical Psychology, based on Vygotsky (2010), combined with studies on teaching practice during the pandemic, reflective practice, and Digital Educational Resources. The findings revealed that Emergency Remote Teaching represented a significant disruption in the educational context, requiring rapid reorganization of teaching practices and fostering processes of adaptation and professional reinvention among teachers. Although digital technologies played a central role in ensuring the continuity of educational activities, technical knowledge alone was not sufficient to guarantee effective pedagogical use, reinforcing the importance of teacher mediation and continuous professional development. The study also highlighted weaknesses in initial teacher education regarding the mandatory integration of digital technologies, revealing discrepancies between educational regulations and the curricular reality of the institutions analyzed. Furthermore, social and structural inequalities directly impacted learning opportunities and student participation during remote teaching. It is concluded that, despite its challenges and limitations, Emergency Remote Teaching promoted significant learning experiences and contributed to the resignification of teaching practices, expanding the use of technologies and strengthening more reflective and digitally mediated pedagogical perspectives. This research contributes to the educational field by emphasizing the need for more consistent teacher training policies capable of integrating theory, practice, and technology in a coherent way, aiming at consolidating an educational model aligned with the demands of contemporary digital culture.
