Este trabalho investiga a recreação infantil, explorando sua implementação no contexto escolar e executada dentro da rotina. A pesquisa aborda conceitos de lazer, atividades recreativas e rotina escolar, analisando quais as relações existentes entre a recreação e a infância, como essa prática se desenvolve na dimensão escolar e como é integrada na rotina da escola. Além da fundamentação teórica, apresenta experiências vividas que destacam o papel da recreação no turno integral e sua integração à rotina escolar. A análise da pesquisa demonstrou que a recreação na escola de período integral desempenha um papel fundamental no desenvolvimento cognitivo, social e emocional das crianças, mesmo que essa não seja a sua finalidade principal. Deve ser planejada com empatia, visando o bem-estar e a felicidade das crianças que passam grande parte do dia na escola, longe de seus familiares. Recreadores criativos podem transformar esse período em momentos de diversão, acolhimento e segurança, promovendo laços, conquistas e desafios positivos. Há, porém, uma visão funcionalista desse tempo extra na escola, que pode ser interpretada como uma forma de legitimar o sistema capitalista, ao transformar a recreação em mais uma etapa do processo de padronização. A recreação vai além de simplesmente preencher o tempo, ela é uma experiência vital que contribui para uma vivência escolar mais rica e satisfatória.

This study investigates children's recreation, exploring its implementation in the school context and its integration into the daily routine. The research addresses concepts of leisure, recreational activities, and school routines, analyzing the relationships between recreation and childhood, how this practice develops within the school environment, and how it is incorporated into the school's schedule. In addition to the theoretical foundation, it presents lived experiences that highlight the role of recreation in full-time schooling and its integration into the school routine. The analysis of the research demonstrated that recreation in full-time schools plays a fundamental role in the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children, even though this is not its primary purpose. It should be planned with empathy, aiming at the well-being and happiness of the children who spend a significant part of the day at school, away from their families. Creative recreation leaders can transform this time into moments of fun, warmth, and security, fostering bonds, achievements, and positive challenges. However, there is a functionalist view of this extra time at school, which can be interpreted as a way to legitimize the capitalist system by turning recreation into yet another stage of the standardization process. Recreation goes beyond merely filling time, it is a vital experience that contributes to a richer and more fulfilling school life.
