This research analyzes the role of the interpreter in transforming country music into the hinterland, focusing on the artistic career of Sergio Reis, between the years 1967-1982, because when there is a retelling of the artistic work, the performer ends up inserting their garb to music that often ends up winning a different sense of what was created. Thus, examining this new guise created by his interpreter becomes of fundamental importance for the understanding of some aspects of the transformation of country music that usually act as a discourse of resistance to modernity. Thus, throughout this work, the analysis of the interpretations of musical works by Sergio Reis will be analyzed from the perspective of new representations of rural submitted by this country singer in their artistic performances
Abstract (portuguese)
A presente pesquisa busca analisar o papel do intérprete na transformação da música caipira para a sertaneja, tendo como foco a trajetória artística de Sérgio Reis entre os anos de 1967 e 1982. Parte-se do pressuposto que quando existe uma releitura da obra artística, o intérprete acaba por inserir sua roupagem à música que, muitas vezes, termina por ganhar um sentido diverso do qual foi criado. Desta maneira, analisar esta nova roupagem, criada pelo intérprete, torna-se de fundamental importância para a compreensão de alguns aspectos inerentes à transformação que se opera nesse âmbito e que geralmente atuam como um discurso de resistência à modernidade. Assim, ao longo deste trabalho, as interpretações das obras musicais de Sérgio Reis serão analisadas sob a ótica das novas representações do rural apresentadas por este cantor sertanejo em suas performances artísticas
