Abstract
In this second decade of the 21st century, the offensive of capital over labor, driven by the insatiable need for accumulation / reproduction, is widening. In Brazil, among the various forms of personification of this societal model, we highlight the sugarcane hydroagricultural, that under the prerogative of the fallacious discourse of national, sustainable development etc., omits its perverse face when we signal the expansion of disputes over access to flat, fertile, and water-available land. Thus, it is essential that a debate be held regarding the management of water resources in Pontal do Paranapanema (SP), this being our objective in this text, given the direct effects caused by the expansion of monocultures that, like sugar cane, have degraded soils, contaminated waters, in addition to indirect impacts taking into account the game of interests in their own management, resulting from management models guided by bureaucracy and an economic bias.
