Abstract
This article is a literature review of research in its initial stages. This study aims to examine the radical audiovisual media series Maraca, which was created and disseminated by the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB). The series fits the concept of radical media, a term coined by Downing (2002) to define forms of media created by minority groups. Such media disseminate perspectives, emphasizing topics they deem important and reflecting their self-image. The study explores the messages Indigenous peoples aim to convey, using the Methodology of Connotations to analyze aesthetics, imagery, language, and context. The historical perspective is grounded in decolonial authors.
