Methodological pathway for the construction of legal ontologies

Abstract

Proposes and discusses a methodological path for the construction of ontologies of the legal domain, focusing on the Electronic Judicial Process and adopting techniques of text mining, specifically ontology learning, as well as the reuse of ontologies and documentary languages for the domain. The research method consists of the following steps: description of the legal domain as well as the electronic judicial process, identification and description of ontologies with the purpose of understanding its architecture, the review of applied works of ontologies and, finally, analysis of the application of text mining techniques. The methodological path was supported by the layers for the construction of ontologies based on texts, which seek to define: terms, synonyms, concepts, hierarchization of concepts, relationships and rules. As a result, the methodological path is feasible and coherent to construct ontologies of the legal domain and in particular for the representation of knowledge around the Electronic Judicial Process.
