Making use of the Scielo Database, using the main themes: Gender and Early Childhood Education and the complementation of filters selecting Brazilian articles, Portuguese language, Human Sciences and a temporal cut from 2000 to 2017. It is concluded that there are gaps in the teacher training process, relating to the preparation to deal with sexuality. The lack of research in the area is even more important when linked to Early Childhood Education. The mapping of studies has contributory elements for the composition of information and for the possible fulfillment of the gaps concerning a given area of knowledge.
