Violência doméstica contra a mulher: seu impacto no desempenho escolar da criança

Abstract

A presente pesquisa se debruçou sobre a temática da violência doméstica contra a mulher, fazendo um recorte sobre sua interferência ou não no desempenho escolar da criança que habita esse lar. As características pessoais e os demais ambientes em que estas crianças/adolescentes estão inseridas, família, escola e comunidade interagem entre si e podem influenciar seu desempenho escolar. Por ser a escola o segundo espaço de maior convívio da criança, é nela que serão exteriorizados o que se vivencia no ambiente familiar. O objetivo principal deste estudo buscou analisar se e como a violência doméstica presenciada pela criança afeta seu desempenho escolar. O método adotado foi a pesquisa documental, analisando-se as informações cadastradas nos arquivos do Centro de Referência e Atendimento à Mulher-CRAM e Secretaria Municipal de Educação-SME, na qual foram selecionados os dados de 20 crianças do Ensino Fundamental de escolas municipais, cujas mães procuraram os serviços do CRAM. Essas crianças foram comparadas com elas mesmas em dois momentos distintos de sua vida escolar: durante as ocorrências dos episódios de violência doméstica e após cessados tais episódios. Os dados analisados foram notas e frequência escolar. Os resultados mostraram que os alunos apresentaram desempenho escolar inferior após cessado os episódios de violência quando comparados aos resultados obtidos durante a ocorrência dos episódios de violência doméstica.

This research focused on the theme of domestic violence against women, making a cut out about whether or not they interfere with the school performance of the child who inhabits this home. Personal characteristics and other environments in which these children/adolescents are inserted, family, school and community interact with each other and can influence their school performance. Because the school is the second space of greater interaction of the child, it is in it that what will be externalized what is experienced in the family environment. The main objective of this study was to analyze whether and how domestic violence witnessed by the child affects their school performance. The method adopted was documentary research, analyzing the information registered in the archives of the Women's Reference and Care Center- WRC and Municipal Department of Education-MDE, in which data were selected from 20 elementary school children from municipal schools, whose mothers sought the services of the WCR. These children were compared to themselves at two different moments in their school life: during the occurrences of domestic violence episodes and after such episodes have ceased. The data analyzed were grades and school attendance. The results showed that the students presented lower school performance after the end of the episodes of violence when compared to the results obtained during the occurrence of episodes of domestic violence.
