To understand the social representations of nursing students about the factors that influence their assessment in the daily life of active learning. Qualitative research, based on the Theory of Social Representations, carried out in a public institution in the Midwest of São Paulo, Brazil. Twenty students from the second series of the Nursing course participated, using an active learning method. The data were obtained through an interview with a guiding question that addressed the factors that interfere in the evaluation process. The participants' social representations revealed three Central Ideals, whose Collective Subject Discourses pointed out that the evaluation process is influenced by the following factors: Oral verbal participation of the student; Characteristics and attitudes of the student and Characteristics and evaluation criteria of the teacher. The social representations of nursing students point out that the effectiveness of the evaluation process is directly related to teacher training, the evaluation model and criteria and the understanding of all involved.en
