Resumo
This paper was carried out to present and discuss an analysis method which explores the relationship between literature and society in the teaching perspective. One chose therefore the dialectic method devised by Antonio Candido who, due to its clearness and currency, may be used in classroom. The author proposes that, in literature reading, one has to observe how extra literary elements participate in the fictional universe structure. He proposes, therefore, a movement in two directions, which is intended to assign meaning to the literary work and, afterwards, verify whether such meaning makes clear the social universe fictionally recreated. Based on such presupposition, one will analyze the novel K.: relato de uma busca (2011), by B. Kucinski, which allows us to build up the tension between fiction and reality within a dramatic period of Brazilian history.
