Este trabalho propõe-se a verificar os procedimentos ficcionais utilizados na composição do romance Paisagem com mulher e mar ao fundo, 1982, da escritora portuguesa contemporânea Teolinda Gersão. O intuito é mostrar que essa narrativa se estrutura por meio de uma configuração múltipla de cenários e linguagens interligados, que ao se sobreporem revelam os embates do sujeito, em sua relação com o mundo, e os da escrita, em seu rompimento com a tradição romanesca e reflexão metalinguística. Essa configuração múltipla permite-nos visualizar em Paisagem, de um lado, a fragmentação do sujeito em sua relação com o mundo, o espaço opressor, a atmosfera conturbada de fatos recentes da história de Portugal, como a ditadura salazarista, a Guerra Colonial e a Revolução dos Cravos e também questões ligadas ao imaginário cultural e à identidade portuguesa. De outro lado, os cenários da escrita. Uma escrita também fragmentada – espécie de extensão ou prolongamento do sujeito - que remete a si mesma e dialoga com os procedimentos ficcionais do romance moderno (como a projeção móvel do foco narrativo e a fragmentação espácio-temporal), com outros textos e outros sistemas sígnicos, em especial a linguagem pictórica e a arquitetônica, motivada até mesmo pelas personagens Hortense (pintora) e Horácio (arquiteto)

This study aims at examining the fictional proceedings used in the novel Paisagem com mulher e mar ao fundo (1982), by the contemporary Portuguese writer Teolinda Gersão. The objective is to show that this narrative is structured through a multiple configuration of linked sceneries and languages which, when overlapped, reveal the subject’s conflicts concerning the world as well as those related to the act of writing, in its rupture with the novel tradition and the metalinguistic reflection. This multiple configuration of the novel allows to perceive, on one hand, the subject fragmentation related to the world, the oppressive space, the confusing atmosphere of recent facts in the history of Portugal, as the Salazar dictatorship, the Colonial War and the Carnation Revolution – issues linked to the cultural imaginary and to the Portuguese identity. On the other hand, the writing sceneries, which reflect a fragmented writing – a kind of extension or prolongation of the subject – that refers to itself and dialogues with the fictional proceedings of modern novels, with other sign systems (or other arts), in special painting and architecture and with other texts
