Influência da obesidade sobre a osseointegração de implantes submetidos a diferentes tratamentos superficiais: estudo em ratos

Abstract

O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar o efeito da obesidade sobre a osseointegração de implantes com superfície modificada por jateamento e ataque ácido e mantida em solução isotônica (Superfície Hidrofílica) e superfície modificada por jateamento e ataque ácido (Superfície Hidrofóbica). Um total de 64 ratos foram distribuídos entre 4 grupos experimentais: SHB (Saudáveis/Hidrofóbicos): animais saudáveis submetidos à instalação de implantes de superfície hidrofóbica; SHL (Saudáveis/Hidrofílicos): animais saudáveis submetidos à instalação de implantes de superfície hidrofílica; OHB (Obesos/Hidrofóbicos): animais com indução da obesidade e submetidos à instalação de implantes de superfície hidrofóbica; OHL (Obesos/Hidrofílicos): animais com indução da obesidade e submetidos à instalação de implantes de superfície hidrofílica. Os implantes foram instalados nas tíbias dos animais após 75 dias de dieta específica (saudáveis: ração para roedores; obesos: ração hiper-lipídica) e a eutanásia foi feita nos períodos experimentais de 15 e 45 dias após a instalação dos implantes. A formação óssea foi avaliada pelas análises biomecânica, microtomográfica e histomorfomética. A análise estatística foi realizada utilizando Shapiro-Wilk para teste de normalidade e ANOVA seguido de teste Tukey para observar se houve diferença significante (p<0,05). Os grupos não apresentaram diferença estatisticamente significante nas avaliações microtomográfica e histofomorfométrica, enquanto que, se observada a avaliação biomecânica, os grupos pertencentes ao período de 15 dias apresentaram valores inferiores de torque de remoção se comparados aos grupos de 45 dias, com exceção dos obesos/hidrofóbicos, os quais não apresentaram diferença estatística significativa. Com base nos resultados obtidos, pode-se concluir que a obesidade não interfere na osseointegração de implantes com superfície modificada por jateamento e ataque ácido e mantida em solução isotônica e superfície modificada por jateamento e ataque ácido.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of obesity on the osseointegration of implants with a surface modified by blasting and acid etching and kept in isotonic solution (Hydrophilic Surface) and a surface modified by blasting and acid etching (Hydrophobic Surface). A total of 64 rats were distributed among 4 experimental groups: SHB (Healthy/Hydrophobic): healthy animals submitted to the installation of hydrophobic surface implants; SHL (Healthy/Hydrophobic): healthy animals submitted to the installation of hydrophilic surface implants; OHB (Obese/Hydrophobic): animals with obesity induction and submitted to installation of hydrophobic surface implants; OHL (Obese/Hydrophobic): animals with obesity induction and submitted to installation of hydrophilic surface implants. The implants were installed in the tibiae of the animals after 75 days of a specific diet (healthy: rodent chow; obese: hyperlipidic chow) and euthanasia was performed in the experimental periods of 15 and 45 days after implant installation. Bone formation was assessed by biomechanical, microtomographic, and histomorphometric analyses. Statistical analysis was performed using Shapiro-Wilk for normality test and ANOVA followed by Tukey test to observe if there was a significant difference (p<0.05). The groups showed no statistically significant difference in microtomographic and histophomorphometric evaluations, whereas if the biomechanical evaluation was observed, the groups belonging to the 15-day period showed lower removal torque values compared to the 45-day groups, with the exception of the obese/hydrophobic groups, which showed no statistically significant difference. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that obesity does not interfere in the osseointegration of implants with surfaces modified by blasting and acid etching and maintained in isotonic solution and surface modified by blasting and acid etching.
