Abstract (portuguese)
A ausência de dentes posteriores, desgastes oclusais excessivos, parafunção e
excesso de sobrecarga durante a atividade mastigatória são um problema clínico
comum. Uma oclusão satisfatória e estável são fatores essenciais para uma saúde
oral saudável e funcional a longo prazo. Além disso, é a base para realizar tratamentos
estéticos, restauradores e periodontais. Durante a evolução da odontologia, os
materiais de moldagem convencionais de alta precisão, estão sendo alternados e até
mesmo substituídos por dados digitais intraorais, obtidos através do escaneamento
bucal. Portanto, o objetivo deste caso clínico foi apresentar o planejamento de uma
reabilitação oral complexa com restaurações em cerâmica, projetadas após o
escaneamento bucal e impressão digital dos modelos e das peças por meio do
sistema CAD/CAM (computer- aided designer/ computer-aided manufacturing).
Abstract (english)
The absence of posterior teeth, excessive occlusal wear, parafunction and excess
overload during masticatory activity are a common clinical problem. A satisfactory and
stable occlusion is essential for long-term healthy and functional oral health. In
addition, it is the basis for performing aesthetic, restorative and periodontal treatments.
During the evolution of dentistry, conventional high-precision impression materials are
being alternated and even replaced by intraoral digital data, obtained through oral
scanning. Therefore, the objective of this clinical case was to present the planning of
a complex oral rehabilitation with ceramic restorations, designed after oral scanning
and digital printing of the models and parts through the CAD/CAM (computer- aided
designer/ computer-aided manufacturing).
