RESISTANCE STUDIES IN THE FRONT OF CATASTROPHE AND THE STATE OF EXCEPTION

Abstract

The call for this dossier began in May 2021 when more than 350,000 people died from COVID-19 in Brazil. The government's actions were irresponsible and inefficient, a disregard for human life. encouraging the use of weapons and apology for the military dictatorship, disrespecting Indigenous people, women, quilombolas and serious attacks on the environment. The call dialogued with these questions in search of consolidating, disseminating and interconnecting scientific knowledge in research surrounded by social commitment, in opposition to the extremist thinking that circulated (and still circulates) in the country and that tried to institutionalize violence and obstruct critical knowledge, before the silencing imposed in several spheres: in culture, education, social and political.
