FASCISM, AS IT WAS AND AS IT CAN BE: CONTEMPORARY REFLECTIONS ON THE CENTENNIAL STRUGGLE OF THE ITALIAN DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF SÃO PAULO

Abstract

The contemporary Western world has known political manifestations and even the advent of political regimes that carry some of the characteristics of the century-old project of fascism. It turns out that in Brazil there have already been experiences of implementing activities of this nature: in the State of S & atilde;o Paulo and among the largest of all communities formed by the massive immigration process: the Italian colony. One hundred years ago, the fascist State led by Mussolini, the Duce, successfully experimented with different ways of implementing its ideology and institutions here among us. These experiences deserve to be known and considered at the beginning of the 21st century, in order to serve as a warning for similar political situations.
