Este trabalho propõe a realização de um estudo das representações órficas construídas na obra de Mário Faustino (1930-1962), em particular, O homem e sua hora (1955), seu único livro publicado em vida. Objetiva-se, assim, investigar as convergências apresentadas entre a obra faustiniana, a tradição órfica e o pensamento órfico-poético moderno apresentado em Pires (2015). Para tal fim, a investigação se constrói a partir da compreensão das particularidades inerentes à narrativa mitológica e das prováveis configurações do pensamento órfico-poético moderno. Nessa perspectiva, procura-se delimitar as relações desenvolvidas entre o material mitológico e os contextos sócio-históricos que o alimentam. Ademais, busca-se analisar a fortuna crítica dedicada à obra de Faustino, sobretudo os trabalhos de Santos Silva (1979), Chaves (1986) e Silva Jr. (2001), além das concepções teórico-críticas desenvolvidas pelo poeta como jornalista literário, tendo em vista a influência mútua exercida entre os diferentes papéis assumidos pelo piauiense. Dessa maneira, o levantamento teórico será utilizado de modo a auxiliar na aplicação de um método analítico sobre os poemas “Prefácio”, “Agonistes” e “Legenda”.

This work intends to study the orphic representations constructed in the work of Mário Faustino (1930-1962), in particular, O homem e sua hora (1955), his only book published during his lifetime. The objective, therefore, is to investigate the convergences presented between Faustino’s work, the orphic tradition and modern orphic-poetic thought presented in Pires (2015). To this end, the investigation is built on the understanding of the particularities inherent to the mythological narrative and the probable configurations of modern orphic-poetic thought. From this perspective, we seek to delimit the relationships developed between the mythological material and the socio-historical contexts that feed it. Furthermore, we seek to analyze the critical fortune dedicated to Faustino's work, in particular the contributions from Santos Silva (1979), Chaves (1986) and Silva Jr. (2001), in addition to the theoretical-critical conceptions developed by the poet as a literary journalist, taking into account the mutual influence exerted between the different roles assumed by the Piauí native. In this way, the theoretical survey will be used to assist in the application of an analytical method to the poems “Prefácio”, “Agonistes” and “Legenda”.
