A disputa pela memória: os filmes Lamarca e O que é isso companheiro?

Abstract

Um dos maiores divulgadores de visões de mundo no século XX, o cinema se apresenta como uma fonte preciosa para a reflexão do historiador. Neste sentido, realizamos uma análise fílmica de Lamarca (1994) e O que é isso companheiro? (1997) procurando refletir sobre as opções realizadas pelos diretores Sérgio Rezende e Bruno Barreto em relação ao tema. Essa análise nos ajuda a enxergar em que sentido esses filmes inserem-se na disputa pela memória, sobre o período ditatorial brasileiro que se inicia nos anos 1960, notadamente o confronto entre as forças armadas e os focos de guerrilha dos anos 60 e 70 do século passado. Nesta problematização realizada, verificamos a repercussão desses filmes em três jornais da grande imprensa: O Estado de S. Paulo, Jornal do Brasil e Folha de S. Paulo.

The cinema, responsible for spreading the visions of the world in the 20th century, is a valuable source for the historian s reflection. In one sense, we carried out a film analysis of Lamarca (1994) and O que é isso companheiro? (1997) trying to think about the options that the directors Sérgio Rezende and Bruno Barreto have chosen regarding the subject. This analysis helps us see in which sense these films get into the argument over the memory about the period of the Brazilian dictatorship of the sixties, specially the confrontation between the army and the guerrilla of the sixties and seventies of the late century. As a result of this analysis, we have verified the repercussion of these films in three newspapers of the great press: O Estado de S. Paulo, Jornal do Brasil and Folha de S. Paulo.
