Resumo

This article aims to present a discussion on the role of Mathematics in the Information Technology courses at the Faculty of Technology of Ourinhos, through documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Projects of the Systems Analysis and Development, Digital Games and Information Security Courses. In this analysis, we sought to identify the profile of the professional to be trained and the contribution of mathematical knowledge in the training of technologists in these courses. The analysis of the referred Pedagogical Projects was made mainly in the light of theories of Technological Education, Critical Curriculum Theories and Critical Mathematical Education and through three categories established a priori. As a result, we point out that training should be provided that enables the cultural elevation of subjects in the development of skills that are structured based on theoretical knowledge, aiming to understand and evaluate social, economic, environmental impacts and to solve problems. Mathematics, in a critical perspective, can be an ally in this direction.
