ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING AND GEOECOLOGY OF LANDSCAPES: CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WATERSHED STREAM GUAICARINHA, ALVARES MACHADO CITY, SAO PAULO, BRAZIL

Abstract

This article reunites contributions on environmental planning and Geoecology of Landscapes for watershed Stream Guaiearinha, in Alvares Machado City, Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a planning proposal application that aims to contribute to the landscape units' identification and environmental status for that watershed. Theoretical and methodological knowledge of environmental planning, watersheds, water management and landscape geoecology literature review were carried out as well as identifying and analyzing the status of Permanent Preservation Areas, environmental fragility and environmental problems. Methodological conceptions of Rodriguez (1994), Rodriguez and Silva (2013) and Leal (1995) was used, with the Organization, Inventory, Diagnosis, Prognosis and Propositions completion steps, including elaboration of thematic maps and synthesis, using the Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), field work, analysis, data and information systematization. It is expected the results and proposals can support environmental planning of this watershed by government and management agencies, including the city hall of Alvares Machado and Pontal do Paranapanema Watershed Comittee.
