A Integridade da obra de arte versus a integridade da história: uma análise

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objeto de estudo a restauração e a conservação nas artes visuais a partir dos teóricos Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le Duc e Cesare Brandi. A pesquisa visa explorar dados técnicos do ofício e diferentes vertentes utilizadas por profissionais desde o século XIX até a atualidade. Serão abordados ao longo do caminho dilemas éticos e os riscos inerentes ao valor historiográfico da obra, em termos estéticos e culturais. A arte e a história tornam-se áreas de conflito, na qual o restaurador deve navegar cuidadosamente, buscando integrar aspectos clássicos e contemporâneos em direção a um resultado sustentável, reconhecível e que beneficie, da melhor maneira possível, as gerações futuras.

The present work has as its theme the restoration and conservation of art, explored through theorists Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le Duc and Cesare Brandi. The research aims to explore technical data of the trade, the different approaches taken by professionals in the 19th century up to the contemporary. Along the way, ethical dilemmas and the inherent risks to the historiographic value of the work will be addressed, in aesthetic and cultural terms. Art and history become areas of conflict, in which the restorer must carefully navigate, seeking to integrate classic and contemporary aspects towards a sustainable, recognizable result that benefits, in the best possible way, future generations.
