Resumo
In this article we elaborate an essay to discuss the textbook (LD) as a technology from the considerations of the Brazilian philosopher alvaro Vieira Pinto, summarized in his work The concept of technology, with the objective of pointing out the ideological aspects that it transports. To do so, we propose to address the historical constraints of the constitution of the textbook and the educational policies that organize its production and distribution in school environments. We highlight the meanings of the concept of technology elaborated by Vieira Pinto and problematize these meanings when considering LD as technology, pointing to the ideological character that configures it, whose evidences are explored in view of its capture as a commodity. Finally, the constraints that engender the materialization of the textbook and its legitimation in pedagogical actions were highlighted, taking into account the material production mode of established social life, which, currently, is the capitalist mode.
