| dc.description.abstract | The article describes an innovative educational approach that integrates scientific knowledge with environmental awareness through practical chemistry activities, following constructivist principles. High school students investigated heavy metal contamination, especially lead, in the River Itapanha & uacute;, S & atilde;o Paulo. With adapted protocols and accessible materials, they successfully detected the presence of lead in the water. The project provided practical experience in chemistry, promoting environmental awareness and scientific investigation skills. The potential of adaptable methodologies in public educational settings was highlighted, emphasizing the importance of innovative strategies for meaningful learning experiences. This work advances scientific education by emphasizing practical and contextualized methods, preparing students to critically and responsibly address real-world challenges. | en |
