Da história ao discurso: um estudo do discurso romanesco em Bom Crioulo, de Adolfo Caminha

Abstract

Esta tese tem como proposta o estudo do romance Bom Crioulo (1895), de Adolfo Caminha. Os objetivos são centrados no estudo da linguagem literária que remetem aos procedimentos narrativos e discursivos utilizados pelo narrador e os modos de adesão do leitor. Constituem eixos da análise o foco narrativo e o jogo de focalização proveniente da delegação de voz; a representação do negro, da mulher e da homoafetividade e, por fim, as estratégias veridictórias mobilizadas para convencer o leitor. Os aportes teóricos que contribuíram na efetivação deste trabalho estão coligados aos estudos literários, narratológicos e semióticos que propiciaram o entendimento das peculiaridades da linguagem literária. Além disso, também se utilizou estudos interrelacionados a pressupostos ideológicos, psicanalíticos e filosóficos que ajudaram na busca de possíveis interpretações dos conflitos pelos quais a condição humana é confrontada. Conclui-se que o discurso romanesco da obra é dotado de fontes enunciativas múltiplas que constroem um mosaico paradoxal de visões de mundo. Tais visões são paradoxais porque não se mostram em plenitude e nem em sua essência; assim assumem variadas formas e ideias.

This thesis proposes the study of the novel Bom Crioulo (1895), by Adolfo Caminha. The objectives are centered on the study of literary language that refer to the narrative and discursive procedures used by the narrator and the lector's adhesion modes. The axes of analysis are the narrative focus and the focusing game arising from the delegation of voice; the representation of black people, women and homoaffectivity and, finally, the veridictory strategies mobilized to convince the reader. The theoretical contributions that contributed to the realization of this work are linked to literary, narratological and semiotic studies that provided the understanding of the peculiarities of literary language. In addition, studies related to ideological, psychoanalytic and philosophical assumptions were also used, which helped in the search for possible interpretations of the conflicts by which the human condition is confronted. It is concluded that the novelistic discourse of the work is endowed with multiple enunciative sources that build a paradoxical mosaic of worldviews. Such visions are paradoxical because they are not shown in fullness or in their essence; thus they assume various forms and ideas.
