Resumo
The National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) approved in 2017 became mandatory in the constitution of all basic education curricula, in elementary school, in 2020. Consequently, what will be taught in Brazilian schools will be organized based on what was defined in the document, concluding that it will be part of the cultural and intellectual repertoire of the generation of students who will be trained in the years that follow. To achieve the objectives of the work, we carried out qualitative, documentary research to analyze the thematic units, objects of knowledge and skills proposed by BNCC, dividing the skills between the national identity represented by indigenous and African cultures, and by the heirs of the culture European, an axis called “peoples and civilizations”.
