Informação e suicídio: análise da memória discursiva em jornal online da cidade de Marília-SP

Abstract

O suicídio é um assunto delicado e que apresenta diferentes pontos de vista em relação às variadas áreas de conhecimento. Logo, é um assunto que pode e deve fazer parte do interesse da Ciência da Informação. Nessa perspectiva, a problemática deste estudo girou em torno da memória discursiva sobre o tema suicídio. O objetivo geral foi analisar discursivamente a memória sobre o suicídio presente no texto de um jornal online na cidade de Marília e nos comentários dos leitores em sua página do Facebook. Quanto ao referencial teórico, foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico orientada para a busca de um conhecimento sobre o conceito de memória coletiva, abordagens sobre suicídio e informação, e também foi efetuada uma busca na Base de Dados Referenciais de Artigos de Periódicos em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI) e na Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics). Quanto à análise, para a seleção do corpus foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória, com busca de notícias sobre suicídio, e foram selecionadas quatro notícias, três do ano de 2019, e uma, no ano de 2021, de um jornal online de Marília, e os respectivos comentários de leitores. A forma de análise dos resultados foi via Análise do Discurso voltada para memória discursiva presente no corpus selecionado. Os principais resultados apontam que o discurso do jornal contribuiu para estigmatização do suicídio, notado no uso de expressões provenientes da memória discursiva religiosa, no uso do sensacionalismo no texto, divulgação de imagem e local, com a não observância das diretrizes da cartilha da Associação Brasileira de Psiquiatria para abordagem do tema. Contudo, o jornal atuou positivamente quando divulgou a informação sobre grupos de apoio ao suicídio. Já a memória discursiva nos comentários dos leitores, essa é associada à memória religiosa com uso de estigmas, tabus e preconceitos com o suicídio e o suicida. Portanto, os leitores se apropriam da informação, com base na memória, a partir de sua cultura, religião, posição social e histórica, demonstrando em seus comentários uma compreensão parcial, porém é possível notar que essa apropriação dos leitores pode ser ampliada com a busca de informação sobre o tema no campo da saúde e mudança de seus próprios conhecimentos. A análise discursiva demonstrou que o jornal e o leitor constroem implicitamente um discurso de atribuição de culpa pelo suicídio, apoiada na memória discursiva, como uma ação ou omissão de agentes que contribuíram para o desfecho. A falta de se falar mais sobre tema e também de se questionar antigas tradições e religiões que culpam o suicida, prejudicam o entendimento sob a luz da atualidade, permanecendo uma memória discursiva de ideias pré-concebidas sobre o suicídio. Finalmente, é importante ressaltar que essa pesquisa espera contribuir para se discutir a importância de mais estudos sobre o suicídio na área da Ciência da Informação para entender como as informações sobre suicídio circulam em uma sociedade e são apropriadas pelas pessoas, podendo atuar na prevenção deste.

Suicide is a delicate subject and one that presents different points of view in relation to the various areas of knowledge. Therefore, it is a subject that can and should be part of the interest of Information Science. In this perspective, a problem in this study revolved around the discursive memory on the theme of suicide. The general objective was analyzed discursively the memory about suicide present in the text of an online the newspaper in the city of Marília and in the comments of readers on its Facebook page. As for the theoretical framework, a bibliographic search was carried out aimed at searching for knowledge about the concept of collective memory, approaches about suicide and information, and a search was also carried out in the Reference Database of Articles in Journals in Information Science ( BRAPCI) and the Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics). As for the analysis, for the selection of the corpus, an exploratory research was carried out, looking for news about suicide, and three news items were selected, one in 2019, and another in 2021, from the Marília Notícias newspaper, and the respective reader comments. The form of analysis of the results was via Discourse Analysis focused on discursive memory present in the selected corpus. The main results point out that the newspaper's discourse contributed to the stigmatization of suicide, noted in the use of expressions from religious discursive memory, in the use of sensationalism in the text, dissemination of image and location, with the non-observance of the guidelines of the booklet of the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry to approach the theme. However, the newspaper acted positively when it released information about suicide support groups. Discursive memory in the comments of readers, on the other hand, is associated with religious memory with the use of stigmas, taboos and prejudices about suicide and suicide. Therefore, readers take ownership of information, based on memory, based on their culture, religion, social and historical position, showing in their comments a partial understanding, however it is possible to note that this appropriation of readers can be expanded with the search information on the topic in the field of health and changing their own knowledge. The discursive analysis showed that the newspaper and the reader implicitly construct a discourse of attributing blame for suicide, supported by the discursive memory, as an action or omission of agents who contributed to the outcome. The lack of talking more about the topic and also of questioning old traditions and religions that blame the suicide, impair the understanding in the light of today, remaining a discursive memory of preconceived ideas about suicide. Finally, it is important to note that this research hopes to contribute to discussing the importance of further studies on suicide in the area of Information Science to understand how information about suicide circulates in a society and is appropriated by people, and can act to prevent it.
