Local irrigation has its importance within Brazilian agriculture, mainly due to low water consumption resulting from the water crisis the country has been facing in recent years. The objective of the research was to evaluate the different weights of geotextile in the cover of subsurface drippers installed with a physical depth in the cultivation of grass. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Department of Soils and Environmental Resources of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, UNESP, municipality of Botucatu-SP. The experimental design was a randomized complete block (DBC), with eight treatments: T1 without geotextile, T2 polypropylene nonwoven geotextile (N26.1), T3 polypropylene nonwoven geotextile (N30.1) and T4 nonwoven geotextile needle in polypropylene (N40.1), with five blocks, and two grasses, totaling 40 units. It was observed that the species of cultivated grass did not present significant results while analyzing the images by WinRhizo, in number of roots, length and volume between species and treatments at 30, 60, 90 and 120 (DAP). The fresh mass of the aerial part evaluated presented results with significant difference among the grassesbut not among geotextile weights, and there was no root adhered in the emitters, and the uniformity in the irrigation system remained excellent before and after the implantation of the grasses.en
