CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPTION OF EDUCATION AS AN ANTHROPOLOGICAL PROJECT

Resumo

In this article, we analyze the arguments that promote the idea of an anthropological image of thought as the fundamental conception to the philosophy of education, that is, as the employment of a specific type of Philosophical Anthropology. Indeed, this conception admits the education as the realization of a fundamental anthropological project, and it is in this sense that a philosophy of education promotes the objective of elaborating an image of man as the subject of education and of elucidating it as mediation of the historical and social existence of man in the world; therefore, proposing it as an anthropology of education. In order to reach this goal, we critically analyzed part of the philosophy of two contemporary authors of Portuguese language, Adalberto Dias de Carvalho and Antonio Joaquim Severino, for having in them the justification for the adoption of this general philosophical conception of an anthropological configuration of the philosophy of education. We conclude, mainly based on Michel Foucault's philosophy, that this issue spanned from the Philosophy of the modern era to the contemporary thought, assuming human finitude in the form of an anthropology, which he calls analytic of finitude.
